30 MINUTES OF YOUR TIME – FOOD SECURITY FOR THE FUTURE
Stakeholder consultation on the development of a toolbox for sustainable use of PGRFA
I call on 30-40 minutes of your time to help identify resources required to support countries in actions to promote the sustainable use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture (PGRFA)—actions critical for addressing the global challenges of food security, biodiversity loss, climate change adaptation and the fight against poverty, especially for smallholder farmers.
The Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) is developing a toolbox to provide Contracting Parties with a comprehensive set of resources, including technical information, policy options, regulatory guidelines, training opportunities, decision tools, and other materials to enhance the effectiveness of activities promoting the sustainable use of PGRFA. In order to assemble a toolbox that will cater for the needs of its users, it is essential for a wide range of stakeholders to be involved in all stages of its development. The Secretariat is therefore seeking responses to a survey in order to advance the development of the Toolbox. The results will be analysed and reported in a synthesis document at the Sixth Session of the Governing Body of the Treaty in October 2015.
The survey is now open for responses until 24 May 2015. Please click on a link below to help us with this important task:
Thank you in advance for your participation and for your continued support of the work of the Treaty. Please feel free to distribute this email among your networks.
